This is a 9.2 mile, 1,127 vertical mini-ride. This is a nice short route with a big climb at around the two mile point, and then becomes an up and down course for the rest of the ride. This route gets you two towns, Orange and Barre Town, and we combined it with a couple other rides in the area.

We parked at the corner of Partridge Road and Reservoir Road and headed out due north on Reservoir Road. One bonus is at the beginning of this route is that when you ride along the Therman W. Dix Reservior you get some beautiful views of this large body of water. Chris saw a family of loons!

Immediately after the reservoir, you start to climb, but it is only about a 400 foot elevation climb over a mile and a half, so it is moderate to easy in its effort level. Then you get a glorious 400 ft of elevation down for the next 2.5 miles. Really fun!

Making a sharp left turn from Cutler Corner Road to Phelps Road, at mile 5, you get a gorgeous view of Camel’s Hump in the far distance.

The last mile of this ride is a climb, a level off, and a cruise back down to the car. Short ride but very sweet!
