The Connecticut River borders Lemington to the east and it rises in hills and mountains to the west. So we knew that any ride would involve climbing. We did a 3.25 out and back, (a total of 6.5) but a person could do more or less, depending on their mood. The first three miles were up hill and the last three miles involved a glorious coast back to the car.

We parked at the bottom of Simms Road and pedaled west, and up, to the top of a ridge and back.

It was residential, agricultural land with some old and new houses. Along the way we got a good view of NH.   The road was a wide gravel town road all the way.

At the bottom, when we returned to our truck, we met one of the town fathers, wondering why we had parked there. He was entertained to find out about our project, and that we had pedaled all the way up to the ridge on Simms road.

Fun ride. We happened to be there when the tractors were speading manure on the fields, so it was also an extremely fragrant ride as well.
