Parking was on VT 102, where we rode south just a bit before turning right onto North Road -a lovely gravel road. The first part of North Road was a climb, but then it leveled off a bit before descending back to Route 102 outside of Guildhall.

A really nice part of this ride was coming into Guildhall on VT 102. While it is a paved state route, there were almost no cars on it, and it had a wide shoulder for safety. The village green in Guildhall is a history buffs dream with very interesting historical buildings, carefully maintained and still in use.

Then, returning to our car on 102, rode along the sleepy headwaters of the Connecticut river. We also happened to pass through the last remaining vestiges of Maidstone Village and its out of commission gas pump.

At the end of the ride, we returned to Maidstone State Park to our campsite.
