Stockbridge

This is a lovely ride. Clocking in at about 12 miles and two thousand vertical, this ia a ride that involves some pretty challenging hills and a nice class 4 road.

You can park in the post office parking lot, just off VT Route 107, in Gaysville village. Go acrossthe White River, turn left, and you are headed UP Laury Road.

Town road gains over 600 feet in elevation, grades are near 20% in some places. At the top, it flattens out and the road turns to class 4, very rideable, through a quiet woods, and still with no traffic. Turning onto Lyon Hill, you are headed toward Stockbridge common still on class 4, Lyon Hill improves to a class 3 town road. At the Common, you hit pavement and turn right toward Music Mountain also known as

Gay Hill, a short ways on the right, and paved for a ways up the hill. It flattens out at the top of that hill and turns to gravel on your way to Bethel Lympus. No “O” in that name… Take a right on Lilliesville Road, ride downhill for miles through the “village” of Lilliesville. Careful, you may miss it… At River Road, you are back near the elevation of the White River, and a couple of small hills to get back to the bridge over the White River and back to the start.
