We started this ride by parking at the Newark Street School, a small elementary school on Newark Street, and rode north (on pavement) along the ridge. This road borders open fields and has several nice views. We headed down to Abbott Hill where it changed to gravel and then slopes uphill.

This route then goes almost straight north through scattered residential neighborhoods, briefly touching the Town of Westmore.

We rode past Jobs Pond without much of a view of that, then east over to  Center Pond Road.  When we got to Center pond fishing access heading south, we rode down to the waters edge.  Not much of the shoreline is developed, so it was nice and quiet.

Riding more south, we reached Newark Hollow. This is a remote section with no houses. We climbed Hollow Road, on gravel for 500 vertical feet, but along the way we noticed something. Four Marlboro cigarette packs had been thrown out on the road in the space of no more than 1/3 of mile.  Some people!

The rest of the ride was beautiful…
